Oaklyn Consulting congratulates Ferguson Animal Hospital on its acquisition by VetEvolve, a multi-location veterinary practice management platform that owns and operates practices in five states.
Oaklyn Consulting assisted Ferguson Animal Hospital in negotiating the business terms of the transaction. This deal exemplifies a core Oaklyn Consulting specialty of helping founder-operated companies exit to new ownership.
Ferguson Animal Hospital, founded in 2001 by Dr. Robynne Ferguson, DVM, is a full-service general veterinary practice located in downtown Bristol, Tennessee, at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains. The practice’s team of more than 20, including three full-time veterinarians, provides high-quality, compassionate care to pets in the Bristol community. The practice’s specialties include in-house diagnostics, ultrasounds and radiography. Ferguson Animal Hospital will continue to operate under its current name, with Dr. Ferguson moving into an employee role with the practice.
VetEvolve offers a business platform for veterinarian practices that frees owner-operators from management responsibilities and allows them to focus on patient care. Its partner clinics provide general veterinary, emergency, boarding and daycare services to companion animals. VetEvolve currently owns and operates clinics in Tennessee, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia.
Oaklyn Consulting is a different kind of investment banking firm for small- and medium-sized companies under private ownership. Oaklyn plans and executes its clients’ most complex transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, capital-raising, recapitalizations, and lender and investor relations. Oaklyn supports businesses, investment firms, nonprofits, co-ops and partnerships. By working as consultants, not brokers, Oaklyn helps in situations where traditional investment bankers typically cannot.
